1) Can you tell us a little bit about your business and what you bring to the wedding scene?

We are a married duo who live for fun, love and the colour of this world. This is what we bring to our images and each wedding as photographers! We absolutely love to get to know our couples during the course of their planning, we find this is the best way to be able to celebrate with them during their big day.

2) What are you most looking forward to at the Christchurch Wedding Fair in April?

Definitely looking forward to presenting our style at Cossars and getting to meet and engage personally with couples who are currently planning their wedding.

3) What sets this Wedding Fair apart from other wedding showcase events you’ve attended?

We love the set up and style of Cossars Wineshed and being given the chance to chat with people planning their weddings on a more personal basis.

4) How do you personally hope to inspire Christchurch brides-to-be for their up-coming weddings?

As in keeping with our own style, we would love to inject our love of colour and fun into their thoughts and for them to see that their wedding day doesn’t just have to be documentation but a work of art to treasure forever.

5) Can you reveal a little about what we can expect to see from you at the Christchurch Wedding Fair?

Big smiles, amazing welcoming attitudes, the chance to show off our recent re-branding – and Blondie (our cute little Mini) might even make an appearance!

6) Finally, what is your new favourite wedding trend to enter the 2016 season?

Magical Evening/Night-time Photos… This is something we’ve been doing for years, but what we love and encourage about night-time photos is that last bit of photography where the couple are made a fuss over – it gives them some one-on-one time together in the midst of a busy day and they receive an incredibly magical result to top off the day that they’ve been looking forward to for such a long time. We always aim to capture all the excitement that has gone into planning their day into one magical photo.

I am a Christchurch-based wedding celebrant. This is my first wedding season and I am truly loving it. I have been involved in the wedding scene on and off for a number of years. With my two young boys growing up it was time for mum to follow her dream. My style is relaxed and friendly. I love helping people create their perfect day and feel it is an honour to be involved.

I am really excited to be part of such a divine event. I am looking forward to meeting other professionals in the industry but mostly am looking forward to meeting all the lovely, glowing brides and grooms to be!

3) What sets this Wedding Fair apart from other wedding showcase events you’ve attended?

This is a new event for me but I’m really excited to be a part of such a boutique event with some amazing people in  the industry. Not to mention the beautiful venue!

4) How do you personally hope to inspire Christchurch brides-to-be for their up-coming weddings?

With a friendly face and a few wise words…. :-)

5) Can you reveal a little about what we can expect to see from you at the Christchurch Wedding Fair?

As a celebrant I am there to offer advice and any little tips that I can, with a smiley face of course.

6) Finally, what is your new favourite wedding trend to enter the 2016 season?

I have loved seeing rustic, romantic styles with wild flowers, soft pinks and navy!

2) What are you most looking forward to at the Christchurch Wedding Fair in April?

The close of the wedding season brings us to a time where we can put some thought into the season ahead, and try some new trends, and introduce fresh ideas to our brides. For us, time to contemplate and try out new things is always a highlight. It is lovely to talk to engaged couples and see where their inspiration lies and how we can enhance and help them extend that so they can create a truly memorable occasion for their friends and family.

3) What sets this Wedding Fair apart from other wedding showcase events you’ve attended?

Working  closely with other vendors to create some new ideas and pulling looks together is always a highlight for me! The fact that we get to do this again – this time in the KIWI TIPI at Cossars is a treat!

4) How do you personally hope to inspire Christchurch brides-to-be for their up-coming weddings?

The great thing about the fair is the scope and space that we get to showcase what we do. Working closely with other vendors, we are able to create vignettes so that brides can get a feel of how this could relate to their big day.

5) Can you reveal a little about what we can expect to see from you at the Christchurch Wedding Fair?

We will have our flower wall featured and on display, as well as some other exciting pieces that people will be able to enjoy and appreciate. One or two strategically placed feature pieces provides great impact and effect – people’s eyes will be drawn to them and you will have to less decorating elsewhere!

6) Finally, what is your new favourite wedding trend to enter the 2016 season?

Classic abundance is making a great comeback as well as tall centrepieces. Done well, these can really help create a sense of occasion. There is nothing more memorable than walking into a room that absolutely takes your breath away! It is great to see more people embracing the gold and sparkle as well!

2) What are you most looking forward to at the Christchurch Wedding Fair in April?

I am looking forward to meeting other industry professionals in the region and creating some great business contacts – The Wedding Fairs attract the most creative and most dedicated industry players, we look forward to having some great collaborative conversations with these talented vendors.

3) What sets this Wedding Fair apart from other wedding showcase events you’ve attended?

The beautiful open plan setting allows for exploration and open dialogue with a variety of vendors for visitors and vendors alike.

4) How do you personally hope to inspire Christchurch brides-to-be for their up-coming weddings?

We hope we can inspire the DIY’s out there to get creative and set about creating their very own instant venues using Hirepool Events’ large range of hire products.

5) Can you reveal a little about what we can expect to see from you at the Christchurch Wedding Fair?

We are going to take a rather ordinary item and transform it into an absolute must-have luxury item for gorgeous brides and their bridal parties.

6) Finally, what is your new favourite wedding trend to enter the 2016 season?

Patterned linen – brides and grooms are becoming braver and opting out of the traditional white on white. Instead of colour added through the use of the traditional table runner, why not ditch the runner altogether and use beautiful soft retro florals with mismatched vases?

SUSANNAH BLATCHFORD PHOTOGRAPHY

1) Can you tell us a little bit about your business and what you bring to the wedding scene?

As a wedding photographer, I see wedding photography as a creative collaboration between myself and my clients. When I photograph a couple on their most special day, it is an act of observation, understanding their vision, and using the  skills and experience I have gained year after year to capture the essence of a couple and their families. I work hard to create images that a couple can look back on year after year, evoking the memories made on their wedding day.

2) What are you most looking forward to at the Christchurch Wedding Fair in April?

There’s been a real upsurge in creativity with weddings in the last few years, so I always look forward to meeting couples and hearing about their concepts for their big day. Being among so many other talented and creative vendors is also inspiring. The Fair is a great way to collaborate with both vendors and couples and the atmosphere makes for a relaxed and fun day out for couples.

3) What sets this Wedding Fair apart from other wedding showcase events you’ve attended?

The beauty of the NZ Wedding Fair is in its laid-back atmosphere. Although much effort has gone in to making it a superbly styled and seamless showcase of the best hand-picked vendors, couples never feel they are being ‘pushed’. There is a great sense of camaraderie between vendors and a huge variety between the different zones. The NZ Wedding Fair prides itself on being able to provide inspiration to every couple with contemporary designs and ideas.

4) How do you personally hope to inspire Christchurch brides-to-be for their up-coming weddings?

By meeting and listening to a couple describe their dream wedding, I am able to help suggest ideas, or show them images that can help bring an idea into a tangible concept. The benefit of working closely with other vendors is that it can help simplify the process and streamline the dream wedding for a couple. By building relationships with florists, makeup artists, stylists and videographers, I can offer expertise and give solid recommendations.

5) Can you reveal a little about what we can expect to see from you at the Christchurch Wedding Fair?

I will be situated in the carnival zone in the Tipi this year, so you can expect to be see vibrant colour, trending designs and themes, and inspired images that capture the essence of love and laughter.

6) Finally, what is your new favourite wedding trend to enter the 2016 season?

There are some fantastic concepts being brought to the table this year, I’m always impressed at the creativity pouring out of Christchurch! Some of the stand-out trends I have seen this season include the use of colour and tailored suits for guys. Instead of traditional navy or black suits, I have loved seeing guys embrace the day and include less conventional aspects to their preparations. Mobile barbers in retro caravans have been a highlight, helping the men bring their own style to the big day.

JESSICA GUNN

1) Can you tell us a little bit about your business and what you bring to the wedding scene?

Jessica Gunn – Canterbury fashion artist showing recent work and demonstrating ink & wash method as I draw brides-to-be wearing their gowns, offering a fine art investment package. I haven’t found anyone else doing this; it’s something really unique and personal.

2) What are you most looking forward to at the Christchurch Wedding Fair in April

I’m excited to be part of the creativity buzz – entering the enclosed hedged garden at Cossars greeted with hanging drifts of aromatic foliage, eucalyptus along with floral sweetness, baked wedding cakes, desserts, dark chocolate and crème brulee, Kiwi Tipi and wood smoke, decorated tables and gorgeous lace dresses. It’s a textural sensation! I love drawing in this environment. All my senses are engaged.

3) What sets this Wedding Fair apart from other wedding showcase events you’ve attended?

All of the above – it’s alive with feeling, colour, texture, lighting, aromatics and it’s ok to touch/feel, taste and smell everything. It is about sensation.

4) How do you personally hope to inspire Christchurch brides-to-be for their up-coming weddings?

I love to show people how I work in real time. Drawing is a practice I do every day and I especially love the challenge of drawing the delicate and sophisticated form of a bride in her gown.

5) Can you reveal a little about what we can expect to see from you at the Christchurch Wedding Fair?

I’ll be drawing live during the New Zealand Weddings event. Being artistic is about being human. When I draw; my heart guides my hand.

6) Finally, what is your new favourite wedding trend to enter the 2016 season?

Need I say? Original personal drawings of the bride of course!
