Waiheke Wedding Fair

So a few weeks have passed but what an amazing day it was at Batch Winery on 20 Oct 2013. We were completely blessed with the weather as the sun shined the whole day. All the exhibitors did an amazing job on their sites and its definitely set standards high for shows in New Zealand. Our aim was a boutique inspires showcase and I think we achieved this without a doubt ! Our vendors got the chance to talk to every single bride  and groom that walked through the door and our brides and grooms got to sample and look at all the amazing things this Island has to offer and not to mention a glass of Batch Blanc de Blancs on arrival! Perfect !

Jewellery was purchased, cakes were tasted, small bites eaten and make up done. There was so many things to do. The talanted Emma Hughes who took all these photos had a fun little ping pong game going on as well !

The lovely Sophia from My Waiheke Wedding and Events helped style the show and was found in the VIP Platinum Marquee. We saw some great venues and the whole fair was organised by Sophia from Coco Lily Events who’s amazing helpers were signing up people to win the Ultimate Bachelorette Party.

Live Music, flowers and amazing views all added to this day of fun. What an amazing venue to get married in.

Oh and did we mention the food from Nico and beer, ice cream, coffee, wine and cocktails? Yum !! There were cars and the Oyster Inn event brought their combi van along for the ride. There are so many vendors to mention so jump to our website to find out more on the event – waihekeweddingfair.co.nz  and our Fb page for all the official photos. A special Thanks to Sophia from My Waiheke Wedding and Events, Dan, Ivan and Geraldine from Batch Winery, Fullers Ferries, Waiheke Executive Transport who got everyone up to the venue, Platinum Hire for the great marquees and my Dad for all his help as well !!

Don’t forget the fair was brought to you by Coco Lily Events who can also help you plan your event and keep you eye out for the next Waiheke Wedding Fair next year !! Follow us on FB for all the latest updates.

Waiheke Wedding Fair Exhibitor Interview: Flower Gallery

1.
Name, and business and what you offer?

Hi, I am Virginia Thompson and I am the owner operator of Flower Gallery. I have worked from my private floral studio based on Waiheke Island for the last 7 years. We are a team of experienced florists that specialize in weddings and events. We work with you personally designing the most stunning floral arrangements for your wedding day. We are very familiar with all the venues and how they operate, taking the worry from your special day.

2.  What inspired you to start your business?

Working with flowers is something that has resonated deep within me all my life. It’s also such a happy industry to be in. I love opening the boxes of flowers I order as every day is so different. Also the design process for creating floral arrangements and the pleasure it brings to people when they receive my arrangements.

3.  What do you love about Waiheke Weddings?

I love that we are on an Island as it seems to change people as soon as they set foot here. People arrive happy and excited to relax and enjoy our beautiful beaches and natural surroundings the Island brings. Every couple is so different and I enjoy helping them create their unique wedding which will have them and their guests reflecting on forever.

4.  What can people expect to find at my stand?

Exciting display of flowers and our photo album of our past weddings we have had the pleasure of making flowers for. I am looking forward to meeting you and discussing your wedding ideas.

5.  My predictions on wedding trends for 2013/2014?

Waiheke lends itself to that shabby chic, rustic look, that I see still being popular. The trend is also leaning more towards glitz and glamour which is timeless.
